Hendri is passionate about business and all businesses originate from ideas provided by teams of creative, inquisitive, smart people. His philosophy is to side with these teams and take an idea to commercial entity. Ensuring success is tricky, an understanding of barriers to entry, know what the customer really wants and access to lots of relevant data are paramount.
He is the co-founder of Pebbletree consulting (April 2002), which later became Britehouse through a process of mergers & acquisitions. Britehouse is a channel business for SAP, Oracle and Microsoft with several proprietary software platforms complementing these solutions. It is also a division of Dimension Data, which is part of NTT. Having served as Group Executive, Hendri left Britehouse in June 2018.
Being a serial entrepreneur, Hendri also started or co-founded other technology businesses with a specific focus on healthcare. This includes businesses that focus on integrating clinical, financial and operational data through visual analytics to discover insights which could lead to improvements in care, reduced costs and deliver higher value to patients. This is further developed through Applications that gather data on HIV, MMC and TB across Africa and output is sold on SaaS model to Global Funds.
Naturally these skills can be applied outside medical solutions and these businesses have morphed into blockchain, online stores, short term insurance, bitfarming and secure payment solutions.
Expanding on this concept and Ethos looking to invest in the Sub Saharan medical market, the founder of Amayeza Abantu Bio Medical and Ethos constructed a deal and Vertice MedTechGroup was founded.
Hendri joined the Group in July 2018 and took up the role as Group CEO from September 2018 to lead the successful execution of its Buy and Build strategy.
Ethos AI fund became a shareholder of the Vertice MedTech Group and there have been various acquisitions of other South African medical businesses over the past 15 months, making Vertice a true MedTech business.
Hendri holds a B.Comm Econometry degree from the University of Pretoria
