Christo Roos - Non-executive Chairman
Christo is an Ethos partner and has been actively involved in a large number of the portfolio companies with deal-lead responsibilities at Vertice, Autozone, Brandcorp, Savcio Holdings, Ozz Industrial, Doves Group and Defy Appliances.His deal investment and harvesting skills are complemented by a track record of building value within his portfolio companies, which span various sectors of the South African economy. Beyond his direct investment responsibilities, Christo is also Ethos in-house Debt Specialist.
Christo holds a Master's degree in taxation, a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Accounting degree, all from the University of Pretoria. Christo is also a Certified Financial Analyst Charter Holder and is a member of SAICA.
Jonathan Lowick - Non-executive Director
Jonathan began working with Ethos in early 2017 as a healthcare industry expert with a view to developing a healthcare platform business/es with Ethos.
He previously worked at Life Healthcare for 20 years, the last 7 of these on the Group Executive Committee where he was responsible for Group Strategy and International for Life Healthcare. He sat on a number of subsidiary Boards including Max Healthcare in India and Scanmed in Poland. During his career he had significant private hospital operational experience and was the Regional Manager for the Life Healthcare Cape Region responsible for the operations of 10 hospital facilities.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Wits and a Higher Diploma in Accounting from Rhodes University and is a Chartered Accountant and member of SAICA.
Anthony Britz - Vertice: Non-executive Director
Non Executive Director responsible for Mergers and Acquisitions in the Vertice Medtech Group, a newly formed partnership between Ethos and Amayeza Abantu. Anthony will be identifying possible targets in the healthcare space in order to develop and grow towards the vision of the VMTG.
Anthony has launched several start-up companies in diverse fields such as Aviation, Clothing Manufacture, Event Management and Medical Marketing and distribution since his departure from the corporate world. During his time with Johnson and Johnson, Anthony was responsible for surgical / cardiology sales. Three years was spent with BHC marketing the Baxter-Edwards Life-sciences range in their Cardiac business. Anthony has an extensive network of contacts in strategic positions within the industry.
Anthony is a shareholder and investor in Foundation for Sustainable Innovation (FSI) and Qode (http://www.qode.healthcare/). Qode enables healthcare organisations to explore clinical, ﬁnancial and operational data through visual analytics to discover insights which lead to improvements in care, reduced costs and delivering higher value to patients.
As Executive Chairman of Amayeza Abantu, Anthony provided strategic leadership and focused his attention on developing new opportunities for the company, securing quality international agencies and expanding the product portfolio.
Patrick Godard - Responsible for Vertice Healthcare
Dr. Godard received his medical degree from René Descartes University in Paris, France and trained in critical care and cardiovascular medicine.
In 1992 he joined the Cardiovascular Group of Baxter France with increasing responsibilities in European marketing to Global Business Unit management for Baxter Healthcare and then Edwards Lifesciences.
In 2002 Patrick moved to South Africa to explore new opportunities and joined Amayeza Abantu in 2004 to lead the development of the cardiac rhythm management and electrophysiology divisions.
He became the managing director of the company in 2010 and then the CEO of the Amayeza Group in 2016.
Hendri Pretorius - Group CEO
Hendri Pretorius is the co-founder of Pebbletree Consulting (April 2002), that later became Britehouse (following a process of mergers & acquisitions) and served as Group Executive at Britehouse. He left Britehouse in June 2018.
Britehouse is a channel business for SAP, Oracle and Microsoft and several proprietary software complementing these solutions and is a division of Dimension Data.

Hendri joined Vertice MedTech Group from July 2018 working with Ethos as technology expert with a view to implement a digital transformation strategy for the new group. From September 2018, Hendri resumed the role as Group CEO, to lead refinement and successful execution of the Buy & Build Strategy.
He holds a B.Comm Econometry from the University of Pretoria.
Morne Toms - Responsible for Haemotec
Morne Toms is the co-founder of Haemotec (October 2001) and has been involved in the medical device industry since 1993.
Morné trained as a clinical engineer and started his career as a field service engineer. He subsequently moved on to sales and when an opportunity arose in 2000 to become the local distributor for an international blood transfusion product supplier, he started Haemotec with a business partner.
He became CEO and sole owner of Haemotec in 2011 and the company has since then experienced significantly growth in its product portfolio, customer base and reach into Africa.
Haemotec is today one of the leaders in the field of specialized transfusion and tissue banking solutions and continues to serve blood transfusion services, bio-repositories, transplant centres, laboratories and hospitals in Africa.
